Restoring households after the war is one of the main goals of the project. For this purpose, the Foundation opened a Social Hub in Mykolaiv, which began its work this spring. This is a space where people can not only repair their belongings on their own, but also rent various repair tools. There are 42 items in total. There is no need to pay money for using them.
From a screwdriver to a perforator, about fifty different tools for easy home repairs can be rented free of charge by residents of Mykolaiv and Kherson regions.
Tools for free rent and use:
- construction tools;
- hand and saw tools;
- drilling and percussion tools;
- grinding tools;
- tools for plumbing;
- building structures and auxiliary equipment;
- measuring tools;
- specialized tool sets;
- hand construction tools;
- tools for electrical work.
The tools can be rented by the elderly, large families, people with disabilities, IDPs, and people in difficult life circumstances.
You can borrow a tool for up to 3 days only. One person can borrow no more than two tools at a time.
The Charitable Foundation cares about people who have suffered from the consequences of the war, and especially about their safety. Therefore, before you receive the necessary tool for repair work in your household, a social HAB employee will check it and help you understand how to use the device.
“I really like the HAB. There are so many necessary tools there, which cost a lot of money, but you don’t need them every day. In addition, I am an IDP, and almost everything I had was left at home. I live alone now, my family is abroad. It’s hard… I really want at least some comfort. I rented a hammer drill. I had to do some small work around the house, hang a mirror. I plan to rent some more tools next month,” – says Viktor Volodymyrovych (name changed for security reasons).
