The Comprehensive Assistance to Internally Displaced Persons, Non-Displaced Persons Affected by War, and Those Who Returned to Ukraine through the Provision of Protection, Psychosocial and Cash Assistance, Housing, and WASH Services project is implemented by the Charity Foundation “Stabilization Support Services” and the German humanitarian organization Sign of Hope, with financial support from the German Federal Foreign Office (GFFO).
The Charity Foundation “Stabilization Support Services” and the German humanitarian organization Sign of Hope (SoH) are launching a new project, Comprehensive Assistance to Internally Displaced Persons, Non-Displaced Persons Affected by War, and Those Who Returned to Ukraine through the Provision of Protection, Psychosocial and Cash Assistance, Housing, and WASH Services, in Khersonka and Mykolaivska oblasts.
The project runs from 2024 to 2026. During its implementation, our team has launched:
- A Social Hub offering services such as a sewing workshop, a light household repair workshop, tool rental, and a home repair call-out service.
- Mobile laundry and bathing facilities.
- Legal consultations.
- Work is also underway to open a stationary laundry.
Social Hub
The Social Hub is a space where individuals can repair their belongings either independently or with the help of a specialist. The sewing workshop is equipped with sewing machines, an overlock machine, and all the necessary tools for tailoring and textile repairs. The repair workshop is outfitted with workbenches, construction tools, and electrical devices for minor repairs.
Some of the services available at the Social Hub include:
- Tailoring and clothing repair services.
- Use of tools for minor repairs in the workshop.
- Free rental of construction tools.
- Call-out service for minor household repairs.
You can contact the Hub by phone at +38 050 449 53 22.
“Our services are extremely important for households, especially in de-occupied settlements, as many things need to be repaired and put in order. At the Hub, you can receive help with electrical work, use a concrete mixer, mend your clothes, and much more — either independently or with the help of a specialist,” shared Tetiana Yakovenko, Project Manager.
Mobile Laundry and Bathing Facilities
As part of the project, two mobile laundry and bathing facilities operate in Khersonska and Mykolaivska oblasts. They are equipped with shower cabins, washing machines, and dryers and have their own power supply and water reserves to provide these services.
These services are available in communities facing electricity and water supply issues. Residents can have their clothes washed and dried, while also using free shower facilities and receiving a free hygiene kit.
Legal Consultations
Residents of Khersonska and Mykolaivska oblasts can receive free legal assistance. These consultations address urgent legal issues affecting the war-affected population.
The program has no restrictions on the target group, meaning that not only internally displaced persons but also anyone affected by armed aggression can seek help.
Assistance includes both on-site legal consultations provided by mobile teams traveling to settlements as well as online consultations.
Stationary Laundry
Work is currently underway to launch a stationary laundry in Mykolaivska Oblast. Here, residents will be able to bring their clothes for free washing and drying.
Additionally, a laundry assistant will collect clothes from other settlements in Mykolaivska and Khersonska oblasts, transport them to the facility for washing, and return them clean and dry.
