A Summer Without a Drop of Water from the Tap in Tomakivska Community. Such is the reality of the Tomakivska community in Dnipropetrovska Oblast. After the destruction of the Kakhovka Hydroelectric Power Plant, under ongoing shelling of pumping stations and chronic underfunding, local residents carry dozens of liters of water by hand every day. Without water, there’s no hygiene, no proper cooking, no basic comfort.
To support the community, our Foundation’s team delivered essential equipment to the Tomakivka Water Utility for emergency repairs:
– A hydraulic welding machine for joining pipes,
– A device for electrofusion welding,
– Polyethylene pipes.
This equipment will be used to repair the most damaged sections of the settlement’s water supply system.
“Restoring the water supply system is a step toward bringing normal life back and supporting public health. We continue to work actively with local authorities and partners to provide essential assistance and ensure the community’s resilience during this difficult period,” said project coordinator Yuliia Suchok.
This is already the third aid package in the past two weeks. The CO SSS continues to support the community and work on restoring critically important infrastructure.
The project “Strengthening Resilience and Protection of Conflict-Affected Individuals, Communities, and Systems in Central and Eastern Ukraine” is implemented by the Charity Foundation ‘Stabilization Support Services’ in partnership with the international humanitarian organization CARE and with the support of the German Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development (BMZ).
