Addressing the Immediate Multi-Sectoral Humanitarian Needs of IDPs and Conflict-Affected Populations Inside Ukraine

During the project we distributed 35,550 food and hygiene kits designed to meet the needs of 89,774 people and provided multipurpose cash assistance to 6,260 individuals. We also distributed 100 institutional kits to 32 institutions in 8 oblasts of Ukraine. These institutions house 6,091 people.

The main feature of this project was the increased size of the food kits, consisting of four boxes with a total weight of 67 kilograms, designed to meet a four-person family’s food needs for three months. Another feature was greater attention to the content of the hygiene kits: we made them more individualized and tailored to the needs of different population categories. In addition to family hygiene kits, based on WASH cluster recommendations, we also distributed hygiene kits for babies, elderly people, people with disabilities, and women’s hygiene kits.

From December 22, 2022, to August 31, 2023, we conducted 492 distributions of humanitarian aid.

In total, we distributed:

  • 10,150 food kits
  • 8,400 family hygiene kits
  • 6,800 women’s hygiene kits
  • 6,200 child hygiene kits
  • 5,000 kits for people with disabilities

Together, we provided humanitarian and financial assistance to 102,125 people in Dnipropetrovska, Donetska, Zaporizka, Lvivska, Mykolaivska, Poltavska, Sumska, Ternopilska, Kharkivska, Khersonska, Cherkaska, and Chernihivska oblasts.

The project was implemented in cooperation with the Response Consortium — a coalition of organizations that, over 12 months, implemented a multisectoral humanitarian intervention to meet the critical and urgent needs of the affected population in Ukraine with financial support from USAID’s Bureau for Humanitarian Assistance (BHA). The Charity Foundation “Stabilization Support Services” is the implementing partner of CARE.Ukraine, which is part of the consortium.
