On June 23, an interregional forum for employees of social protection agencies, titled “Forum for Social Change: Ways to Support from Displacement to Integration,” will take place in Cherkasy. It will bring together experts from the Vinnytsia, Zhytomyr, Kyiv, Cherkasy, and Chernihiv regions.
The event was organized by the Charity Foundation “Stabilization Support Services” as part of a project to strengthen the capacity of the social protection system, implemented with the support of UNHCR, the UN Refugee Agency in Ukraine.
About 100 participants will gather in one place to jointly identify effective models for the adaptation and integration of vulnerable groups of IDPs into communities and to highlight positive practices.
We invite representatives from the following groups to join the event:
- regional and local government bodies;
- regional social protection agencies;
- state and non-state social service providers;
- the expert community;
- international partners and non-governmental organizations influencing the transformation of the local social protection system in the context of protracted displacement.
Discussions will focus on:
- coordination among all participants in the process during the final stage of evacuation;
- strengthening communities’ capacity to make decisions that support the adaptation and integration of people with experience of internal displacement, with a focus on older adults, people with disabilities, and those with limited mobility, through the analysis of practical models;
- interregional exchange of experiences and development of partnerships.
